The folks at Bolt|Peters just published chapter 1 of their upcoming book “Remote Research”.  Judging from the first chapter, it’s going to be a great book (I’m a huge fan of remote testing for websites so may be a bit biassed).  They discuss when and why to do remote research, and when not to.  They even give a fair amount of space to an anti-remote-testing advocate — and in the first chapter no less!  Some good tidbits here to help those new to remote UX testing better understand the whole field.  Check it out – chapter 1 is online now for free.
